Invented Portrait 1 - Drypoint Etching - Intaglio Print

Invented Portrait 1 - Drypoint Etching - Intaglio Print
Paper size: 7x10in
Printed image size: 4x6in
To make an etching print, I cover a plate (that I hand-carved an image into) with ink and then selectively remove surface ink leaving the area I would like to be transferred to paper, i.e. intaglio process. This allows me to create detailed lines, various textures, and a look of age to the resulting print.
There are subtle shifts in tonality from one print to another, due to the process of being hand-inked, hand-wiped, and hand-rolled through the press. So, it will look very much like the pictures, but not exactly. Because of this hands-on process, every print is a one-of-a-kind piece of art! It is NOT a digital print.
I recommend having the print matted closely around the image, title and signature. Feel free to trim the paper if needed to fit in a specific frame!
